Transfer Station Price Updates

We are pleased to inform you that the Transfer Station prices have been updated. We strongly encourage you all to recycle as this helps us keep our costs down! Questions regarding the new prices can be directed to the Transfer Station Superintendent (see contact information).
**Permit (town resident, 2 year permit) - Free (additional/replacement $5.00)

 Transfer Station Prices

  • Blue Bags (sleeve of 5 bags, large 32 gallon) $6.25
  • Blue Bags (sleeve of 5 bags, small 13 gallon) $3.00
  • Chair (stuffed and/or reclining) $5.00 each
  • Sofa (love seat and/or three seat) $10.00 each
  • Sofa (four + seat) $15.00
  • Sofa (convertible) mattress & metal must be removed $15.00
  • Sofa (sectional) $5.00 each section
  • Toilet $5.00
  • Sink (non-metallic) $5.00
  • Bulky Waste (resident) $10.00 per cubic yard

  • Air Conditioners -Freezers
  • Anti-freeze - Heat Pumps - Propane Gas Tanks (BBQ)
  • Automotive Oil - Kitty Litter - Refrigerators
  • Batteries - Leaves - Smoke Detectors
  • Box Spring(s) & Mattress(s) 
  • Brush - Mercury Vapor Lights - Tires (all)
  • Cooking Oil - Mercury Thermostats (must be unbroken) - Water Coolers
  • Dehumidifiers - Mercury Thermometers (must be unbroken) - Wine Coolers
  • Electronics (all) - Paint - Latex (covers off and paint dried)

Transfer Station Items Not Allowed

  • Oil Base Products (Paints, Paint Thinner, Varnish, Shellac and Stains) (hazardous waste)
  • Drain Cleaners (hazardous waste)
  • Oil Storage Drums (if clean put with scrap metal - if not, hazardous waste)
  • Battery Acid (hazardous waste)
  • Camping Stove Fuel (small propane tank drop off at the transfer station - liquid fuel is hazardous waste)
  • Gasoline and Kerosene (hazardous waste)
  • Dead Animals (can be either composted or buried)
  • Asbestos Products (hazardous waste must be identified as to amount and where it came from)
  • Ammunition/Gun Powder (give to Resident Trooper)
  • Auto or Marine Flares (hazardous waste)
  • Rocks or Concrete Slabs (check with local sand and gravel operations)
  • Fungicides, Herbicides and Insecticides (hazardous waste)
  • Mice/Rat Poisons (hazardous waste)

All recyclables are still free and for your convenience. The Town utilizes the single stream
method (meaning no need to separate recyclables). Please help to keep our costs down by
recycling.
