Economic Development Commission

Overview

The Economic Development Commission consists of five members serving 5-year terms.


Major Responsibilities

  • Attract new employers (manufacturing, non-manufacturing, and non-local government offices). 
  • Create promotional literature and participate in State promotional efforts focused on building infrastructure for new employers.
  • Improving the efficiency of existing businesses (the retention and expansion of existing business). 
  • Improving the ability to generate funds. Strategies in this area would focus on retaining retirement income in the community, increasing the amount of purchases made locally, providing more services locally, etc.
  • Encouraging the formation of new businesses.
  • Grant writing.
