Mission Statement

Provide assistance to all citizens and developers regarding their development needs consistent with the towns regulations and ordinances and to promote a healthy and safe environment for the citizens of the Town of Sprague in a friendly and professional manner.


Major Responsibilities

The Land Use Secretary is responsible for setting up meetings for all land use boards and commissions which includes processing applications for the Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Commission, the Planning and Zoning Commission, and the Zoning Board of Appeals. 
 

Essential Duties

Performs clerical functions related to the Land Use Department:
  • Receives and responds to general land use questions.
  • Accepts and processes applications to the IWC, PZC, and ZBA.
  • Collects and submits all land-use fees to the town clerk.
  • Maintains planning & zoning, subdivision, inland wetlands, and zoning appeals files.
  • Prepares and posts agendas for all land use commissions.
  • Types, distributes, and posts meeting minutes.
  • Prepares and distributes monthly meeting packets for IWC, PZC, and ZBA members.
  • Prepares and publishes legal notices and subsequent decisions for IWC, PZC, and ZBA meetings.
  • Maintains amendments to Inland Wetlands, Zoning and Subdivision Regulations.
